About Amanda & Field Nutrition

Amanda Field Nutrition Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

I believe there’s more to health than following the latest rigid “cure all” diet. Instead, we can restore our relationship with food and our bodies, and listen to our intuitive rather than external cues for hunger, fullness, and enjoyment of food! At Field Nutrition, I help my clients improve their health and nutrition with a non-diet approach to nutrition counseling.

About Amanda Field RDN, CD

I’ve always been fascinated by the science of nutrition and psychology, and in college I learned how much I enjoy nutrition counseling. The philosophies I practice include intuitive eating, health at every size, mindfulness, and acceptance. A lot of my past experience has been with corporate wellness programs, where I have witnessed the guilt that many people carry with them around food. My passion is helping my clients break free of that guilt and joining them on the journey towards building a healthy relationship with food to complement their lifestyle.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Nutrition with a minor in Psychology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, on the beautiful central coast of California, where I also competed my Dietetic Internship to become an RD. Learn more about what it takes to become an RD on my blog, here. After a few years of working as an RD I decided to go back to school to pursue a Master of Science in Nutrition at Central Washington University, where I got to take additional coursework in exercise physiology, sports nutrition, and psychology. I’m currently working on finishing my thesis research project on eating attitudes and behaviors in collegiate rugby players.

Outside of work, I love to cook, stay active, and spend time with friends. I enjoy volleyball and a good vinyasa or restorative yoga class. Pretty much any time of year, you can find me in the mountains- snowboarding in the winter or hiking and rock climbing in the summer. Bell peppers are one of my favorite foods, I could probably eat them with almost every meal: in an egg sandwich with arugula, stuffed with meat and rice, roasted, BBQ’ed, or raw with hummus. Fresh summer strawberries with vanilla bean ice cream are a favorite treat of mine right now. I also make a mean butternut squash curry macaroni and cheese.
